We are an obedient people. We have been taught that obedience keeps us safe. This is fine when it actually does keep us safe without endangering others. However, obedience can be deadly when fascism creeps in.

As so many of us (especially those of us who are white) instinctively obey those in authority and have a tendency to go with our group (whatever that group might be), we are primed to just let fascism march right through.
