How we Gather
Many paths, one community

We come from different places, backgrounds and spiritual traditions to support one another in finding the practices that work for us, in practicing regularly, and in cultivating lives that help us root and grow while we collectively and individually work for liberation in the world. This means we have different gatherings that (hopefully) align with what people are seeking. We are also queer and neuro-divergent, so our gatherings also tend to reflect that!

In alignment with our community values, we root our practices in our own ancestries and do not use or teach practices that are closed. We hope to have the opportunity to help more people find what practices align with their ancestry and journey.
Spiritual Practice for Everyone
Spiritual Practice Community (Thursdays)

Our Thursday night gatherings are weekly gatherings where we connect as a community, ground ourselves, and engage in a practice or learn about the practices of others. These evenings are for people of all faiths/cosmologies, those who have no specific tradition, those searching for how they want to root themselves spiritually, and people who don't believe in any kind of higher power but want to ground themselves in community, love, the greater good, or another concept that often considered "spiritual" (but is!).

The overarching pattern of these gatherings is the wheel of the year. For us, following the wheel means following the cycles of nature with our practices and observing the changing of the seasons with rites/rituals. We find the wheel to be a good way to structure what we are practicing, thinking and talking about.

The pattern for these gatherings is:
Clear (if you want to)
Ground/center (meditation or other grounding activity)
Connect (sharing)
The topic of the night

Special Series: Connecting with your Guides (2nd Thursday)
This year we are trying out having a special series for those of you who would like to dive deeper into spirit work and learn how to connect with your guides. Connecting with our guides is work that takes preparation, so this will be a year-long series, scheduled in 3 month segments, and attendance at most of the gatherings will be mandatory. This series will be taught by Elizabeth, and in her work she believes people need to know how to ground, clear, and protect themselves and have a regular practice of these things before they can safely connect with guides (cause you gotta know how to discern and how to protect yourself).

Random Things
We also have fun events like game nights and pool parties as well as larger ritual nights that are open to all!
For people interested in Jesus
While much of our work is with people seeking community outside of traditional church community, we also provide space for people who are into Jesus but whose needs aren't met by the church, who don't fit in church, or who carry a lot of religious trauma but still feel called to Jesus as their spiritual center. These offerings are for those who want some Jesus, but maybe not church.

Liberation & Jesus Reading Group (3rd Wednesday, 5:30pm, Firestorm)

This group meets monthly to discuss something we have read that is centered in theologies of liberation and how we live them out in the world. Examples of things we have read:

The Cross and the Lynching Tree by James Cone
Sisters in the Wilderness by Delores S. Williams
Mujerista Theology by Ada Maria Isasi-Diaz
Queer Theology Linn Marie Tonstad
Liberating Church eds. Brandon Wrencher & Venneikia Samantha Williams

Beginning in October we will be reading Empowered to Repair by Brenda Salter MacNeil.

Worship-ish

The Third Wednesday of the month we gather to pray, sing, read & discuss scripture & take communion. This gathering reflects the spiritual openness of our community and, while being centered in Jesus, we also bring in pieces from other traditions we practice (that are culturally appropriate). It's Jesus, but, like, a little witchy?
