Spiritual Practice Groups New Daytime (Facebook Post)(2).png

Thursdays at 7pm
4th Thursday at 6:30 with Dinner
@ 23 Edwin Place, Asheville

Every Thursday night we will gather for an evening of spiritual practice to ground ourselves for our work in the world. From spiritual practices for everyone, to Christian practice, to learning practices that ground and nourish different members of our community, we will help you find practices that fit your life and belief system and support you in your practice. Every 4th Thursday, those who want to will gather at 6:30 for dinner and then we will gather to discuss how we are doing in our practices, what we can give and what we need, and find ways to support each other in our practices and our lives.

We encourage masking for our gatherings and will provide masks for all. We keep us safe.

Weekly Themes

1st Thursday - Spiritual Practice for Everyone

Gathering to learn (or deepen our understanding of) a spiritual practice that can be applied to any spiritual background (or none at all). These practices are intended to ground, protect, connect, and fuel us for our work for liberation. We will work to find ways to support folk in their practices and have check-ins the 4th Sunday of the month.

2nd Sunday - Christian Practice w/ Eucharist

Prayer, singing, scripture, conversation, creativity, communion in one form or another, structured and led by the community and focused on liberation.

3rd Sunday - Practice Sharing

Members of the community will teach/lead spiritual practices from their own traditions and cosmologies.

4th Sunday - Community dinner & check-in

Gather to eat together and check-in about life in general and about how our experience of the spiritual practice we learned at the beginning of the month, or the practices we are using at the moment is going. We will work together to find ways to help support one another in our practices and in life in general.

We are here to grow and we are committed to not doing harm

Guided by principles of transformative justice we will call each other in with care

Location:
23 Edwin Place, Asheville

We will be gathering at 23 Edwin Place in N. Asheville. 23 Edwin Place is a house owned by the Unitarian Universalist Church of Asheville. There is a small lot by the church and ample street parking. There are three steps to the front door. It is not the most accessible building. We are working on finding a space that is truly accessible; it has been difficult.
