About the event
All of the ways people think about God and interpret scripture are informed by  the lenses we each wear — our race, gender, socio-economic status, disability or abledness, sexual orientation, education level, and SO MANY other things. Liberation theology is theology done from the social location of the poor and oppressed. When we read different theologies of liberation, we learn to see the triune God and scripture through very different lenses, often leading us to a very different idea about who God is.
Join us for our March & April read, Mujerista Theology by Ada Maria Isasi-Diaz. Mujerista theology is theology done by and for women Hispanic women, focused on their liberation.
Liberate yourself from the straight, white, wealthy male version of God so many of us have been handed.
You absolutely do not have to be Christian to join us! This kind of reading can be helpful for understanding the world around us and/or pushing back on the dominant Christian Paradigm around us.
There will be snacks and beverages!
